Wills, Estates & Family Law

Wills & Estates

We provide a wide range of services in this area including wills, powers of attorney, enduring powers of attorney, advance directives, trusts, and estate planning.

We offer a wide range of services in this area including wills, living wills and power of attorney, as well as advice and assistance with state planning.

These are critical health and estate tools to help you to structure your affairs during your lifetime and after your death. No one wants to think about their own passing, so our wills and estate practice focuses on giving you the ability to speak your wishes at a time when you may not be able to use your voice.  This could include how you want to be cared for as well as how you want your affairs to be managed while you are alive, and how you want it distributed after.

Not having such documents in place means others will make those choices for you, and their choices may not reflect what you want to occur.

We provide sensitive, informational advice on your options and help you to clearly identify your wishes.  If needed, we can help to administer your wishes at the appropriate time.

Updating Your Will: As your circumstances change, you may find that your wishes also change.  For example, a change in marital status, the birth or death of a child, or the progression of age in your children, might require adjustments in your will.  We encourage our clients to consider reviewing their will approximately every five years – or when there has been a significant change in their life – to ensure that such documents are an accurate reflection of their current wishes.

Family Law

Family issues are challenging at the best of times, but sorting through the legalities of different decisions can make these emotional decisions even more challenging.

We can help you to prepare cohabitation agreements, prenuptial agreements, separation agreements, and no-fault divorce agreements. This includes collaborative or amiable divorces.  We can also assist with co-parenting agreements, and property transfers as part of a separation or divorce agreement.
